Musical Structure

In the process of composition, the structure acts as the foundation on which a song can given a sense of direction. Some structures have rules on how to compose in a specific genre, whereas other structures give the composers complete creative freedom to write whatever they like the sound of.

Some examples of musical structure include:

12 Bar Blues (1-4-5)

Song Structures E.g. Binary Form ABAB, Rondo (Canon) ABACAB etc.

Head – Solo – Head (Mainly Utilized in Jazz)
